* France changed its coronavirus case criteria, resulting in an estimated one-time 5,000 reduction in cases on April 29.
France’s coronavirus cases flattened out starting March 24 through the restricted movement of all citizens. With its revised COVID-19 definition, cases have dropped to 310 per day between May 19 and 25. This rate is down from a peak of 7500 on April 1. Five of the last seven days were sub-300 cases. However, France did spike to 3270 cases on May 29 and was over 500 today. If numbers continue to be high from easing of restrictions, then France will move back to Red status.
