As of May 30, 2020
STATUS: Green | CASES: 84,565 | DEATHS: 4,645 |
ACTUAL SOURCE: World Health Organization COVID-19 Situation Reports. Dotted lines are estimates based on percent of population.
Note: the estimated actual results from February 10 through 17 were to reallocate 19,343 confirmed cases initially posted on February 17. I believe this spike to be final testing on people rounded up during door-to-door contact tracing.
China is where the coronavirus outbreak started in December 2019. The graph above illustrates China’s success in stopping the coronavirus. China capped its number of new daily cases at around 6000 in mid-February by sending 1800 teams of five healthcare workers each into the city of Wuhan to conduct the contact tracing. After the quarantining, their cases dropped to less than 100 per day for a country of 1.4 billion people. Over the last five days, they were down to an average six cases per day.
