Why has Viet Nam been included with only 327 confirmed cases of the coronavirus? According to a Reuter’s story, Viet Nam has been very successful at combating the disease by quickly stopping flights to Wuhan, China, closing their border to China, and conducting aggressive contact tracing. Viet Nam reacted quickly this time since they were the first country outside of China infected by the SARS virus back in 2003.

Viet Nam was downgraded to Green Status as of May 17. It had zero new cases for 25 of the 28 days between April 18 and May 15, then experienced 36 cases in four days (May 16 to 19), showing how easily things can change when you are not vigilant.
